“I’ve been with the business full-time for 7 years, helping Adam and Clare Buitelaar develop the meat side of the UK business. However, my first taste of the Buitelaar Group was summer work in Ireland between University terms. I was not fully aware of what the work entailed, except that I would learn what the core business looked like. Work included helping buy cattle in the UK, feeding calves and selling calves in Ireland, amongst other jobs.
Since Adam’s offer of an exciting job opportunity a couple of years later, I’ve been fortunate to travel the world exploring new markets, from exotic destinations such as the Philippines and Japan, to much of Europe, including Portugal, Germany, Holland and France, making both business connections and a lot of good friends.
Looking back, it has been quite the journey and amazing to see the business develop at such as pace under the direction of the Buitelaar’s. I think it could be best described as one hell of a roller-coaster ride but with many more ups than downs!”
