Saving the Soil: Encouraging the Pet Industry to Take Heed

Buitelaar Group has recently been commended for their commitment and drive to increase awareness of eco-friendly, green practices (such as regenerative agriculture) and their inarguable benefits in the pet food supply chain to pet food manufacturers, suppliers and other industry stakeholders.

Implementing environmentally conscious farming techniques, such as regenerative agriculture practices are just one of the ways in which the industry and specific supply chains can reduce the eco impact of pet nutrition and help answer to the increasingly demanding green approach to pet ownership.

To this effect, Buitelaar Group is working to build momentum in a regenerative farming movement, named Project Regen, to help secure the long-term future of agriculture and ingredient supply to the food industry, including pet food. Adam Buitelaar said “This is not about gaining a competitive edge, this is about coming on a journey with us. We are rewarding people to do the right thing, and several of our customers are really, quite excited about it.”
