Adam Buitelaar attends screening of: 'A World Without Cows.'

Buitelaar Group CEO, Adam Buitelaar was recently invited by Alltech to participate on a panel discussion for the screening of: A World Without Cows at EuroTier.

Adam sat alongside industry leaders such as host Patrick Charlton; as well as Tara McCarthy, Global Vice President for ESG at Alltech and Torsten Hemme, Global Dairy Expert. Participating in the panel provided a fantastic opportunity for Buitelaar to share their vast expertise in positive environmental change and support for our farmers.

The screening premiered a thought provoking documentary that explored the environmental and ethical issues surrounding global dairy and beef productions. It delved into issues such as environmental, ethical, and economic implications of raising and consuming cattle, and asks a bold question: What would happen if we lived in a world without cows? The film intended to explore both the consequences for food production and agriculture as well as touching on broader issues such as climate change, animal welfare, and sustainability.

Reflecting on the event, Adam said: "It was a privilege to be asked to be on a panel alongside such experts in this field. The film provided an insightful view of both sides of the argument, and offered a balanced and fair perspective. It is crucial that we, as an industry ensure this balanced perspective reaches far beyond the boundaries of our own industry and educates the wider public. I highly recommend anyone with the opportunity to watch the documentary, to do so."

This isn't the first time Buitelaar had been invited to a screening of the film. Last month, Group Sustainability Lead, James Watson was asked to be part of a panellist for the premier of the documentary at the European Roundtable for Beef Sustainability in Poland. James emphasised that: "the beef industry isn't just a linear value chain but a vital nexus that supports biodiversity, soil health, and carbon sequestration through regenerative agriculture. It’s crucial for us to highlight how we contribute to complex ecosystems."

At Buitelaar Group, we are passionate for ensuring a balanced and fair view on critical topics such as sustainability and the key contributing factors is shared to those beyond our industry for a sustainable future for all.

We’re excited to be part of this critical journey, working together to create a food industry that can meet the challenges of tomorrow.
