Buitelaar are family-owned business specialising in sustainable meat and livestock supply chain solutions across the UK and Ireland. With over 100 years of experience, we connect farmers, processors, retailers and manufacturers through fully integrated, traceable supply chains.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced part-time (flexible hours, 2-3 days per week) Technical Manager to join our growing Commercial Team in Harrogate.
The role of Technical Manager
Provide training, coaching and technical guidance to the Quality Assurance Lead, promoting a strong quality and food safety culture throughout the business. Support supplier quality management activities, ensuring raw materials and suppliers meet required specifications and standards.
You will be responsible for maintaining all sales data in compliance with BRC, RTA and Organic certifying bodies and completing any audit required for Buitelaar Foods.
Responsibilities
- Managing BRCGS Agents and Brokers certification and audit readiness
- Supplier approval and due diligence visits
- Working closely with manufacturing partners to maintain technical standards
- Investigating customer complaints, non-conformances and quality issues
- Reviewing specifications, artwork and technical documentation
- Acting as the technical lead for the business
This is an office based role, flexible 2-3 days per week, with occasional travel to manufacturing partners, suppliers and customers both in the UK and Europe. Experience within the meat sector is a pre-requisite of this role.
