A Marketing Role with Real Variety
Where else could your working week take you from farm to food production facilities, from creating social media content to analysing campaign performance, or from supporting an industry event to sharing the stories of people across a growing international business?
At Buitelaar Group, no two days are quite the same.
We're looking for a creative, commercially minded Marketing & Communications Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract.
With more than 100 years of history, we're a family-owned business operating across agriculture, meat and food, ingredients, pet food and raw materials, and hides and skins. Our businesses connect farmers, producers, customers and consumers, creating a wealth of stories, experiences and opportunities for our marketing team.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll help bring those stories to life, develop engaging communications and contribute to marketing activity across the Group.
You'll work within an established brand strategy, with the freedom to bring your own creativity, ideas and commercial understanding to how we communicate and engage with our audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Group Content & Social Media
- Deliver engaging content across our Group social media channels, working to an agreed content strategy and forward plan.
- Identify and develop stories from across the business, creating written, photographic and video content.
- Capture and edit content at Group sites, farms and events as required, working with external production support where appropriate.
- Write and publish blogs, articles and other Group communications.
- Maintain consistent brand messaging and high-quality content across our channels.
Digital Marketing & Reporting
- Manage Group digital marketing activity, including paid campaigns, website content and agreed SEO improvements.
- Analyse website, social media and campaign performance, understanding how activity contributes to wider business objectives.
- Produce the monthly Group marketing report, identifying trends, opportunities and recommendations.
- Use performance insights to improve future marketing activity, working with external specialists where required.
Internal Communications & Culture
- Manage Buitelaar Times, our internal newsletter, from content planning through to production and distribution.
- Coordinate internal communications through Buitelaar Connect and other relevant channels.
- Support the planning and delivery of Group culture, team engagement and fundraising initiatives.
- Work with colleagues across the business to share team news, achievements and stories.
Group Brand & Creative Delivery
- Maintain brand consistency across Group marketing materials and communications.
- Create and coordinate marketing collateral, presentations and digital assets, working with external suppliers where appropriate.
- Maintain organised and accessible brand assets, photography, video and templates.
- Support day-to-day marketing requirements as needed.
Events & Wider Team Support
- Support other marketing team members with communications, content and materials for trade shows, events and campaigns.
- Contribute to Group initiatives and cross-business marketing projects.
- Provide occasional cover for other members of the marketing team during periods of absence.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys the creative and commercial sides of marketing, brings fresh ideas and is comfortable working across a variety of projects.
You'll have experience in marketing or communications, with the confidence to manage your workload, build relationships across the business and turn ideas into well-executed activity.
What You'll Bring
- Experience in a marketing or communications role, with a good understanding of content planning and campaign delivery.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to create engaging content for different audiences.
- Experience managing social media channels and creating digital content.
- An understanding of digital marketing and analytics, with the ability to interpret performance data and make practical recommendations.
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in understanding how marketing supports business objectives.
- Confidence communicating with people across different teams and areas of a business.
- Familiarity with creative tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut or similar.
- Experience in using AI tools, to work efficiently and creatively while maintaining accuracy and good judgement.
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
- Photography, filming or video editing experience.
- Experience with paid digital advertising, SEO or website content management.
- Familiarity with marketing reporting and analytics tools.
- Experience supporting internal communications or events.
- An interest in agriculture, food production or related industries.
You don't need to have experience in every area. We're looking for someone with strong marketing foundations, a willingness to learn and the confidence to get involved. If you can bring creativity, good judgement and a practical approach, we'd like to hear from you.
