KNOWLEDGE SHARING CONTINUES TO BE A FOCUS AT BUITELAAR'S DEVELOPMENT FARM
On Thursday 1st December 2022, Buitelaar welcomed 30 members of Frome Young Farmers Club for a whistle stop tour of their state-of-the-art Development Farm in Somerset.

On hand to greet them were Dominic McKenzie, Farm Manager and Alan King, Chair of Research & Development. The evening began with a tour of the facilities where they discussed building design and the multiple benefits of Buitelaar’s High Health Units. Alan explained how the units increase efficiency, enhance protection from disease and alleviate space on TB restricted farms. A spokesperson for Frome Young Farmers Club said, “It was great to see calves thriving in these modern, pristine facilities.”

Next the group moved on to look at the other facilities on the farm, including the modern, high hygiene milk preparation area. Dominic McKenzie discussed the management procedures on farm and gave the group an overview of some of Buitelaar’s own products, including their Yellow Bloom milk powder and Alvital (a natural health product) all of which are used on farm.
Dominic Mackenzie said, “It’s great to be a part of encouraging the next farming generation, Long Lane provides an amazing opportunity to see how engaging in modern farming practises and innovation can enhance the lives of both farmers and animals.”
Sharing knowledge and trial findings is just a small part of Buitelaar’s commitment to supporting the future generations of farming and driving the agricultural industry forwards.
