A Rearer Finisher farm takes rearing calves from our dedicated Collection Centres at 2 – 6 weeks of age. These calves are offered with underwritten price contract.
Our Rearer Finisher farmers take calves right through our supply chain. Calves are sourced from Buitelaar approved and monitored dairy farms, assessed on their standards of early-stage calf rearing, health recording and calf housing.
Once an even batch of quality calves has been delivered from our higher welfare Collection Centres, the farmer rears the calves on milk and then takes them through to finish. As a Rearer Finisher, you will have full control of the calves during this period and profit from the resulting success of rearing healthy calves.
As with our rearing farms, you will have the support, advice and guidance of our Tech Team who will be on hand and regularly visiting to help and assist you during the rearing of each calf batch. Following rearing, you will transition your calves across to a finishing diet if you are producing beef or Rose Veal for us.
We also offer native cattle breed schemes which require a store period of grazing after the rearing stage. The cattle would then enter the finishing period.
